Billing reminders for vision services

CarePartners of Connecticut would like to provide some clarity regarding the correct billing practices for vision claims, to ensure that these claims are reimbursed appropriately.

All claims for optometry services should be submitted to EyeMed Vision Care, who provides claims and benefit administration on behalf of CarePartners of Connecticut for routine vision, eye wear, and medical optometry vision services.

For ophthalmology services, the correct billing practice depends on the type of encounter:

• Ophthalmologists should bill EyeMed for routine vision claims.
• For a nonroutine, medical vision visit, ophthalmologists should bill CarePartners of Connecticut directly via our typical process.
