Medicare Part B Step Therapy Policy

As a reminder, CarePartners of Connecticut maintains a Medicare Part B Step Therapy Policy, which requires members to first try certain preferred drugs to treat their medical condition before coverage of another non-preferred drug for that condition is approved as medically necessary.

This policy applies only to members initiating a new course of treatment. CarePartners of Connecticut makes regular updates to the policy, so be sure to review it periodically for complete information on drugs for which the step therapy requirement applies, as well as their preferred alternatives.
